In August 2009 Sisk Construction contracted Subsea Minerals to take responsibility for the marine plant to be used to support the reconstruction of the pier at Weston Super Mare.  Sisk had already contracted with barge and crane suppliers to mobilise two large construction barges equipped with cranes.  Subsea personnel successfully mobilised the barges to site and operated them for the early part of the marine works.  The contract lasted until January 2010 and in that time Subsea undertook the replacement of the flat top barges with jack up platforms managing and operating all vessels involved.

Tidal and weather conditions on the River Severn are treacherous and require the highest level of marine operational experience.
